The widest point is just a mile, so there's lots of shore line with rocks, beaches and reefs.
It is advisable to enter the well marked channels into port during daylight hours only.
Navigation charts are a must. Travelling with a crew member or captain who has already made the trip once before is also very helpful.
The Boatyard is located just less than a half mile west of the customs dock. |

While there are no true marinas in the Town of St.George's there are some dockside facilities available.
The Historic Town of St.George was founded in 1612 and is the Western Hemispheres oldest English speaking continuously inhabited municipality. All vessels entering Bermuda by sea must enter into the Eastern port of St.George's to clear H.M.Customs. The Customs Dock is located on the Eastern tip of Ordanance Island, shoreside in the Town of St.George's.
The St.George's Dinghy Club and the St.George's Boatyard both offer dockside facilities that include power and water.
The Dinghy Club and the Boatyard are located on opposite ends of the harbour, and both are within walking distance of the Town of St.George's. |
